I led my first week-long summer day camp at Guelph's
Arboretum last week. It was attended by 17 young photographers and nature explorers, aged 8 to 13, plus some very helpful
Focus on Nature volunteers.
Each day we had a short photography lesson; a photo safari around the
park; a nature activity with the Arboretum's naturalist; and lots of
rambunctious fun! We finished the week with slide shows for the
assembled parents of each camper's best shots and gave them all a small
tree sapling to take home and plant. I think everyone finished the week
like me: tired but happy!
