Responding to the warm sunny weather, I went to the Bruce Trail today to photograph our woodland spring flowers. Blood root, blue kohosh, dutchman's breaches, coltsfoot, toothwart, wild ginger, meadow rue, hepatica... I found seven native species blooming near the trail. Their miniature perfection, so startlingly colourful and brilliant, stands in contrast to their crusty, dry surroundings. Beautiful! Life declares itself anew once more.

Amazing shots Simon. How big are these plants? I don't know if I would notice them unless I was sitting on the ground.
ReplyDeleteThey're tiny. But if you're in the right place you can't miss them (when looking down!).
