Summer Camp

I led my first week-long summer day camp at Guelph's Arboretum last week. It was attended by 17 young photographers and nature explorers, aged 8 to 13, plus some very helpful Focus on Nature volunteers.
Each day we had a short photography lesson; a photo safari around the park; a nature activity with the Arboretum's naturalist; and lots of rambunctious fun! We finished the week with slide shows for the assembled parents of each camper's best shots and gave them all a small tree sapling to take home and plant. I think everyone finished the week like me: tired but happy!

Ahh, Summer!

Just spent a week at an old farmhouse/cottage on Moore Lake in the Haliburtons. The lake was cool, clear and uncrowded. Lucky for me there was an abundance of natural subjects flittering about the nearby fields to keep me occupied for hours!
